We just crossed into Ohio!
Utah, Colorado, Nebraska, Iowa, Illinois – done! Indiana, Ohio, Pennsylvania, New York and Massachusetts to go. The ride home always feels so much longer for some reason.
After a mediocre BBQ meal last night we settled into our hotel in Morris, IL. There isn’t much around here, and I was a tad nervous that our stay would be a repeat of the lovely time we spent in Kearney, but all is well. Once B finishes ordering his new iPhone (obviously) we’ll hit the road. Destination = Spencer, NY – B’s hometown.
P.S. I ate a basket of fried pickles for dinner last night. Some were dipped in the hottest hot sauce I’ve ever tasted – Green Ghost. They were not the best meal choice I’ve ever made, but how could I order pulled pork with all the adorable pictures of baby pigs on the walls?!?

Never have we been so happy to cross a state line. The pavement for the last 10 miles was so rough I think the tires only traveled about 5 miles.
The view isn’t great, but we stayed at a Fairfield Inn with a much-needed laundry room just across the hall and a very comfy bed. We have 700 miles to travel today to Morris, IL. We just finished listening to The Girl Who Played with Fire which is helping pass the time.
We forgot to post this yesterday. We’re still in Nebraska now. I never thought I’d look forward to Iowa so much.
It’s a cloudy, drizzly, chilly day here in Grand Lake, but wow is it beautiful.
I’m slipping into a food coma now after a delicious breakfast at Sagebrush but we’ll cruise Trail Ridge Rd thru Rocky Mountain National Park in just a bit.
I was able to back up my 130.25 run yesterday morning. So today I woke up a member of the 130 mph club. Victory!
